Our Religious School is committed to teaching children a love of Judaism. Religious School explores the Jewish culture (cooking, traditions, and history), arts (music, literature, art), and spirituality (prayers and Torah), along with teaching about Israel and the Hebrew language. We believe Religious School should be both an educational and enjoyable experience. Grades K-7 meet each Sunday from 9am-noon. Classes are small providing individual attention to each student. Our rabbi leads and teaches a portion of the Shabbat service every Sunday morning.
Students in grades 8-12 can participate in Kehi-Loft, our program for post b'nai mitzvah students. Kehi-Loft meets in the evening from 6:00 - 8:00 once a week. Kehi-Loft is an engaging discussion and social group that meets in our teen lounge (the balcony), with many sessions led by guest speakers covering present-day topics selected by our students. A pizza dinner is served and part of each session is social.
Parents are welcome to visit our school at anytime and are expected to sign up to volunteer throughout the year, either in the classroom, our school’s office, or by helping put together a special event such as a Purim Carnival or Passover seder. On Sunday mornings, parents are encouraged to meet other congregants at our Bagel café or adult education classes while Religious School classes are in session.
We are currently accepting applications for the 2009-2010 school year.
