Montgomery Mosaic and the One Montgomery Committee Event: Interfaith Prayer Service and Iftar

May 15 • 7:00 pm

Interfaith Prayer Service and Iftar: Celebrating Community during the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadan

In the month of Ramadan, Muslims break their fast with an iftar, an evening meal that follows a time of prayer. Montgomery Mosaic, a group founded by Montgomery Township Mayor Sadaf Jaffer, has planned an interfaith Iftar that will be hosted at the Blawenburg Reformed Church. People of any religious background are welcome to this event, which will celebrate and seek to strengthen our diverse Montgomery community. The evening will begin with an interfaith prayer service in the church sanctuary. During this time local religious leaders will share reflections on the topic of community, including:

  • Princeton University Muslim Chaplain Imam Sohaib N. Sultan
  • Father Peter A. Baktis of the Mother of God Orthodox Church
  • Rabbi Jacob Adler of Congregation Kehilat Shalom

Following the service, everyone is welcome to the iftar meal in the church hall.
