CKS Adult Ed – Rabbi Jake
My Grandfather’s Experiences in British Mandate Palestine, the Haganah, and the Jewish Brigade, 1935-1947″
While in rabbinical school, Rabbi Jake did a research project exploring the twelve years his grandfather spent in pre-state Israel after leaving Germany as a teenager. The resulting paper received the Fred Louis Stamm Memorial Prize, awarded annually to a student of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College who writes an essay that most contributes to the field of Jewish History and Culture, consisting of original research written during the previous year.
Rabbi Jake will be presenting an adult education on the topic in memory of his grandfather, Paul Max Adler, on the occasion of his 20th Yahrzeit. This presentation will include photographs and historical records, as well as video clips of interviews of Rabbi Jake’s grandfather.
